established in 2018
I’m Kelli and hubs is Farmer Clint, together we created Cedar Shake Farm. We have an orange and white tomcat named Seeley Booth and about an acre and a half in beautiful Madison County Iowa. In the spring of 2018, we started Cedar Shake Farm, selling seasonal cut flowers and vegetables. We’re just West of Winterset, and conveniently located down the road (kind of) from our friends at Pammel Park Coffee Company.
Before moving to Winterset, we lived in Clive. We decided everything was a bit too easy to obtain so we decided to move closer to our parents (and I really think Clint wanted a bigger garden). We bought our 1912 craftsman-style farmhouse in the fall of 2016 and the following spring, we started a small garden plot for ourselves,
During 2017, we wandered through the local farmers market in Winterset and got the itch. We already had such an abundance of veggies we were both pawning them off to people left and right.
In February of 2018, Clint started planting vegetable seeds and I lost my kitchen table to the seedling trays and grow lights. We expanded the garden in the spring and that's when things really took off. We signed up for the Madison County Farmer’s Market and the rest is history.
As the year’s have progressed, we have added a multitude of flowers, veggie varieties, thousands of tulips and microgreens to our product listing. We provide microgreens locally to The Drift & Petite Cafe, as well as a host of others individuals locally. Check out our microgreen listing on the product page which goes every month.
In 2021, we decided to start the Madison County Fall Crawl with about 15 local businesses partaking in the event around the Winterset area. We have come to love our local businesses here in Madison County; and that was a way we could share the fun with everyone. Be sure to check it out the last Sunday in September every year. Food trucks, vendors, live music & giveaways!
